Hi! I’m Rae, and I’m trying to live my healthy dream. All my life, been skinny and I’ve never had to worry about my weight. I have a fast metabolism so I used to eat whatever I wanted. One day, however, I decided to start eating healthy, and I lost about 10 pounds and I got even skinnier- some people thought that I had an eating disorder. I really liked my body after that, and I decided to try and keep it up. My metabolism has become my downfall since a few months ago I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia caused by too much stress. That means that my blood sugar falls too low every 2 or 3 hours and I should eat right away. Low blood sugar signs include shakiness, confusion, irritability, anxiety, hunger pains, fainting, coma and death. I’ve learned that hypoglycemics shouldn’t eat unhealthy food in order to function well- I always get really shaky after eating a lot of sugar. I also learned that hypoglycemia caused by stress can be temporary. Mine is getting better but hasn’t gone away yet. I’ve also had a lot of brain fog ever since the hypoglycemia started. My goal is to eat healthy in order to eliminate both my hypoglycemia and the brain fog. Join me on my journey.
By the way, I want to study nutrition in college :). I find it interesting how eating certain foods can have different effects on your body, even on your mood.
